ENTRY LEVEL INTERNSHIP- $7.50/HOUR - STUDENTS ONLY!!! Valley Shepherd Creamery, located a short drive to NYC, will again host 6 interns in 2010. A learning - working experience in artisan cheese and dairy food production- biotech and marketing.
The farm utilizes milk from its 600 Friesland dairy sheep and 30+ cows. The successful interns will participate in several areas at the farm including production of many artisan cheeses, yogurt, butter and the marketing of the products at many farmer markets in NJ and NYC. The pay is hourly, free housing is provided as well as a car for local transport. This the 8th year of internships at V.S.C. Join an international team and learn a whole lot about cheese making, affinage, and direct marketing of artisanal dairy products. Start anytime between April 1st and July 1st. The internship can end end of October or end Nov, 2010. (Minimum 5-8 months stay via J1 Visa.) You need to have a good drivers license, be ready to work hard and handle 25kg wheels of cheese and be good at people relations. Expect to be paid for about 60+ hours/week. 5-6/days/week. ===================
